What We Do at Roots – Fenn Farm, Rowsham

Redbourn Park Roots is based out of our new site at Fenn Farm, Rowsham. We provide a nurturing, flexible and child-centred environment for children and young people with SEND.

Our Roots provision supports children in communication and interaction, cognition and learning, social and emotional development, and sensory and physical needs. Through a variety of services, including English and maths tutoring, practical learning, creativity, outdoor exploration, physical activity and vocational experiences, we help each child develop in ways that are meaningful to them.

Everything we do is built around three core values:

Safety. Empathy. Ambition.

  • Safety – creating a trusted environment where children feel secure, understood and confident to explore, take appropriate risks and be themselves.
  • Empathy – meeting the child where they currently are in their development, with understanding, awareness and compassion.
  • Ambition – recognising the potential in every child and helping them build confidence, independence, resilience and a genuine enthusiasm for engagement and learning.

Our curriculum is individualised and responsive, building on each child’s strengths, interests and starting points. Learning happens through purposeful, engaging experiences that develop both academic skills and the wider skills children need for life.

Ultimately, our Redbourn Park Roots provision is about preparing children for what comes next — helping them become confident, independent, curious and resilient young people who feel safe to be themselves, understand and value others, and have the ambition to embrace their future.
